Refund & Cancellation Policy

Effective date: 29 August 2026

This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains the general rules applicable to payments, cancellations and refund requests for services requested through LEGAL CENTRE. Refund eligibility depends on the particular service, the stage of work, costs already incurred, and applicable law.

LEGAL CENTRE is a private service-assistance platform and is not a government authority. Government departments, payment providers, professionals and other third parties may have their own independent refund and cancellation rules.

1. Before Making a Payment

Customers should review the selected service, quoted amount and communicated scope before making payment. If any part of the scope or fee is unclear, please contact LEGAL CENTRE before paying.

2. Cancellation Requests

A customer may request cancellation by contacting LEGAL CENTRE through the Contact page or the support facility available in the customer account. A cancellation request does not automatically create a right to a full refund.

Refund eligibility will be assessed according to the work already performed, commitments already made, third-party/professional involvement, government or statutory charges, and any other non-recoverable cost incurred for the application.

3. Cancellation Before Work Has Started

Where a valid cancellation request is received before substantive work has started and before any non-recoverable government, statutory, professional or third-party cost has been incurred, the customer may be eligible for a refund of the amount paid, subject to any lawful and disclosed non-recoverable payment-processing or transaction cost, if applicable.

4. After Work Has Started

Once work has started, a full refund may not be available. Depending on the circumstances, any refund may be reduced by the reasonable value of work already performed and by non-recoverable costs already incurred for the service.

Work may include, for example, reviewing documents, preparing forms or drafts, conducting service-specific checks, communicating with the customer or third parties, initiating professional work, creating/submitting applications, or performing other substantive steps required for the requested service.

5. Government, Statutory, Professional and Third-Party Charges

Government fees, statutory charges, stamp duty, filing fees, certification charges, professional fees and other third-party costs that have already been paid, committed, consumed or become non-recoverable may not be refundable by LEGAL CENTRE.

If a third party returns an amount to LEGAL CENTRE that was originally charged to the customer, any corresponding customer refund will be considered after reconciliation and subject to applicable law and any other legitimate amounts due for work already performed.

6. Government Rejection, Objection or Delay

A government or third-party rejection, objection, query, processing delay or change in procedure does not by itself create an automatic right to a refund, because LEGAL CENTRE cannot guarantee decisions or processing times controlled by an external authority.

Where additional work is required following an objection, resubmission request or changed requirement, the customer will be informed where additional fees or documents are reasonably required.

7. Customer Delay, Incorrect Information or Non-Cooperation

A refund may be reduced or unavailable to the extent permitted by applicable law where work cannot proceed because the customer provides incorrect, incomplete, fraudulent or unusable information/documents, fails to provide required information or approvals, or otherwise does not complete necessary customer-controlled steps after reasonable requests.

8. Duplicate Payments

If the same payable amount is accidentally charged more than once for the same transaction or application, please report it with the relevant application and payment details. After verification and reconciliation, a confirmed duplicate amount will be refunded or otherwise adjusted as appropriate.

9. Failed, Pending or Debited Payments

A transaction may sometimes appear failed or pending even though the customer's bank or payment instrument shows a debit. Customers should not immediately make repeated payments unless the application clearly requires another payment.

Failed or reversed transactions are generally handled through the banking/payment network. If LEGAL CENTRE has not received or captured the relevant amount, any reversal may be processed by the bank or payment provider according to its own timelines. We can assist with transaction verification using the available payment reference.

10. Refund Method and Processing

Approved refunds will ordinarily be processed through an appropriate payment method or banking channel after verification. The time taken for the amount to appear in the customer's account may depend on the payment provider, bank, payment method and banking network and is therefore not entirely within LEGAL CENTRE's control.

We may request reasonable information necessary to verify the customer, application and transaction before processing a refund. Customers should never provide passwords, OTPs, card PINs, CVV or UPI PINs for a refund.

11. Refund Request Review

Refund requests are reviewed on the facts of the individual application. Relevant factors may include the payment record, service scope, application status, work performed, documents prepared or reviewed, external costs incurred and communications relating to the service.

Where a refund is approved only in part, LEGAL CENTRE may provide an explanation of the principal deductions or non-refundable components on request, subject to applicable law.

12. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

If you believe a payment is unauthorized or there is a genuine billing problem, please contact LEGAL CENTRE promptly so that the transaction can be investigated. Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute does not automatically determine whether the underlying service fee was properly payable.

LEGAL CENTRE may provide the payment provider or bank with relevant transaction, application and service records when reasonably necessary to respond to a payment dispute, subject to applicable privacy and legal requirements.

13. Services Already Completed

Where the agreed service has been substantially or fully completed, a refund will generally not be available merely because the customer later changes their mind. This does not affect any remedy that the customer is entitled to under applicable law for a genuine deficiency, billing error or other legally recognized ground.

14. No Waiver of Mandatory Rights

Nothing in this Policy is intended to exclude, restrict or waive any consumer right, statutory refund, remedy or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted. If a provision of this Policy conflicts with a mandatory requirement of applicable law, the mandatory legal requirement will prevail to the extent of that conflict.

15. How to Request a Cancellation or Refund

Existing customers should preferably use the support facility available in their account. You may also use the Contact page and clearly mention "Refund Request" or "Cancellation Request" in the subject.

Please provide the Application ID and enough transaction information for us to identify the payment. Do not include passwords, OTPs, card PINs, CVV or UPI PINs.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in our services, payment processes, law, regulation or third-party requirements. The latest version will be displayed on this page with its effective or last-updated date. Changes will not remove rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Last updated: 29 August 2026. This Policy should be read together with the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and any service-specific quotation or scope communicated for the application.
